As much food as possible should be consumed by humans – this is our stated goal in Coop restaurants. To this end, we take an array of measures in the day-to-day running of our restaurants. For example, we follow a sophisticated purchasing and warehousing process for the planning and management of the food we offer, work closely with the Too Good To Go app and process large quantities of perfect food from retail.

$Rescuing$ food with Too Good To Go

Our Coop restaurants offer leftover meals at attractive prices via the Too Good To Go app. Guests can place their order via the app and pick it up from the restaurant in the evening. For even greater sustainability, we use reCIRCLE reusable containers, which are handed out for a CHF 10 deposit and can be used independently of the Coop restaurants. The reusable boxes can then be returned to a Coop restaurant or another reCIRCLE partner.

Decisive $action$ against food waste.

Through stock transfer, we give top-quality food a second chance: each year, we transfer around 2200 tonnes of fruit & vegetables that we are no longer able to sell in our sales outlets to the Coop restaurants, where they are used to create delicious menus.
